Q: I just bought a return ticket to Japan. Can you suggest where to go, what to do?

A: Yes, of course. Please contact Japan Holiday Concierge as soon as possible, and we can set up a first FREE consultation.

Q: Can you advise me what kind of holiday –possible activities, comfort level, and accommodation – I can reasonably expect with my budget?

A: Yes! That’s what Japan Holiday Concierge is for. Remember, by hiring us, you will most likely end up saving some money even after paying us.

Q: All I need is to have someone book my accommodation. Can you do that for me?

A: Yes, of course. We are happy to make an arrangement just for a portion of your trip as well. Hiring us is like hiring a capable tax accountant – you will not only save your time & money but also avoid possible troubles.

Q: Can you make an arrangement only for transportation?

A: Yes. Please let us know of your plan, and we can discuss what may be the best option for you.

Q: What kind of service do you provide?

A: Our concierge services include, but are not limited to, suggesting holiday destinations and/or a range of accommodations and activities, enquiring about the specific travel options available in Japan, making reservations, and informing accommodation providers of your specific requests, such as gluten free requirement. If necessary, we conduct in-depth research to find out the information that is specifically sought after by you.

We provide travel related administrative support, such as ordering to have a travel SIM delivered to your first night hotel, or booking tickets for concerts and theater performances. However, you are responsible for obtaining a travel document, purchasing travel insurance, or booking a return flight.

We offer phone/email support while you are in Japan, and book restaurants, tourism activities as you go, at additional fee.

If you require on-site assistance, we will be there to be your personal tour guide as well at additional fee.

Q: How is your service different from that of travel agencies?

A: Three major differences.

(1) You don’t need to pay the whole price in advance. Our service fee is all you need to pay to secure your holiday. You pay us for our time to make travel arrangements for you, and you pay directly to accommodation and tourism service providers in Japan after you arrive in Japan as you go (there may be some exceptions, as some accommodations and tourism activities require pre-payment, but still you pay them directly. We work within the budget you set and maximize the value of the money you spend in Japan.

(2) You have great flexibilities over your holiday — not only the travel dates, budget, the lengths of holiday, and choice of destination, but also you are free to change or cancel all or part of your plan at nominal cost. Sometimes unexpected circumstances occur, and you may want to change your plan at last minute, depending on weather or how you feel. We offer on-call travel assistance while you are in Japan.

(3) We care about your experience. We work in the best interests of our clients. We do not take commissions from accommodation and/or tourism service providers. We do not purchase airline tickets and accommodation at wholesale prices for re-selling. We do not have a ‘pre-made’ travel packages. Every itinerary is custom built to meet your unique interests and needs.

We consider us to be a liaison between the two cultures, assisting English speaking holiday makers to have a great holiday while helping Japanese businesses to welcome visitors from English speaking countries.

Q: What kind of activities will you suggest?

A: We can suggest a variety of activities — taking a helicopter to see the night view of Tokyo metropolis from the sky, or hopping one hot springs to the other to make your skin silky and smooth, or stroll along the town that has hundreds of years of history, or soaking in an open air bath that has a grand view of ocean.

You could stay at hidden gems of Japan (ryokans that would not take online reservations). You could also enjoy Japanese cuisine that would enhance your palate to the next level at a sought after establishment (we would make hundred calls on behalf of you to make a reservation).

Other suggested activities include calming your mind through meditation, or enrich yourself with cultural experience such as learning Japanese tea ceremony, or watching local festivals & fire-works, amuse yourself by visiting the capital of “anime”, or going for hiking, skiing, or learning pottery, permaculture, and receiving or learning healing modalities. If it’s a kids centered holiday, how about a themed holiday, such as visiting iconic “Ferris Wheels”,  “Trains”, Lego Land, or the Ghibli museum?

Q: How much do you charge?

A: Our service fee is about 10% – 20% of your total budget (excluding return airfares and personal miscellaneous expenses, such as souvenirs, snacks, etc.). The percentage varies depends on your holiday requirement. It also depends on the complexity of the desired travel arrangements. In any case, one thing for sure is that you will end up saving your valuable time and money by hiring us.

Q: Why shall I consider going on holiday in Japan?

A: There are many reasons – Japan is safe and clean, and Japanese are generally polite and courteous. Japan is full of culture and history. For most Australians, it’s in the same time zone. Japan offers great value for money.

A: Mon-Fri, 10 am to 4 pm AEST.  Sat & Sun, 10 am to 3 pm AEST
